The most powerful license for BUDS3 software is called "Technical Service Rep".
In this description, for simplicity, we will refer to this license by the short name Mechatronic.
TechnicalServiceRep = Mechatronic = is an advanced license intended for BUDS3 software developers which gives a privilege of “Super User”.
This BUDS3 Mechatronic License provides advanced ECU programming, VIN reassignment, module configuration and deep system diagnostics for Sea-Doo, Can-Am, Ski-Doo and Lynx vehicles.
What is BUDS3 Mechatronic License?
BUDS3 (BRP Utility and Diagnostic Software 3) represents the newest generation of professional diagnostic technology developed for modern BRP vehicle platforms.
The Mechatronic (Advanced / Expert) License unlocks expanded system access designed for experienced technicians, performance specialists and high-level service centers.
This license level provides deeper configuration capability beyond standard dealer operations, allowing advanced service procedures and complex module management.
Supported BRP Platforms
This BUDS3 Mechatronic License enables diagnostics and configuration for:
- Sea-Doo personal watercraft and marine systems (MY16+)
- Ski-Doo and Lynx snowmobiles (MY17+)
- Can-Am ATV (MY17+)
- Can-Am SSV (MY17+)
- Can-Am 3-wheel vehicles (Ryker, Spyder)
- 2-wheel motorcycles
Compatible with modern BRP vehicles using VCI V800, Kvaser U100 or Kvaser Leaf Light HS V2 diagnostic architecture.

Legacy MPI interfaces are not compatible with BUDS3.
