Can-Am Commander ECU Calibration Update Guide
This guide explains how to update ECU calibration on Can-Am Commander vehicles using BUDS software and official BRP calibration files.
Why Calibration Update is Required
A new calibration file was released to fix several known issues:
- Incorrect oil pressure switch behavior
- Drive belt protection improvements
- False fault code P1339
The new calibration eliminates false fault triggers and improves overall engine performance.
Required File
- Calibration file: 715 900 196.fc
- BUDS version: C3.3.1 or higher
Important Note
This calibration file is NOT included in BUDS and must be downloaded separately from BRP BOSSWeb.
ECU Update Procedure
- Connect BUDS to the vehicle
- Open "Faults" tab
- Click "Clear Occurred Faults"
- Go to Module → ECM → Update
- Select calibration file
- Confirm update
⚠️ Critical Warning
Do NOT interrupt the update process. The ECU update may take several minutes and screen may freeze temporarily.
After Update
- Remove ignition key
- Reinsert and turn ON
- Click "Read Data"
- Check ECM Information
Verification
Verify BRP Assembly Number matches expected values after update.
Common Issues
- Update interrupted → ECU failure risk
- Wrong file → calibration mismatch
- Power loss → incomplete flash
