Sea-Doo Spark 60 HP to 90 HP Upgrade Guide

This guide explains how to upgrade a Sea-Doo Spark 60 HP configuration to 90 HP using BUDS software with Megatech privileges.

The procedure applies to Spark ACE 900 HO models and requires advanced BUDS access privileges.

Requirements

• BUDS E3.8.2 or newer
• BUDS W3.8.2 or newer
• Dealer PWC & Boats privileges
• Megatech privileges
• Compatible MPI interface

Important Notes

• Always save the original MPEM document before modifying ECM settings.
• Use the correct model year during model number conversion.
• Verify all ECM parameters before writing data.
• Clear all fault codes after the procedure.

Step 1 — Update the Vehicle

1. Run BUDS E3.8.2 or newer.
2. Login with Dealer PWC & Boats privileges.
3. Install all available software updates.
4. Write Data.
5. Save the MPEM document.
6. Close BUDS.

Step 2 — Change the Model Number

1. Run BUDS with Megatech privileges.
2. Change the model number to the equivalent 90 HP version.
3. Use the same model year as the original 60 HP vehicle.

Example:

00060EA00 → Spark 903 NA ACE 900 HO

Step 3 — Remove Power Limitation

1. Open Advanced → ECM Coding.
2. Locate the parameter Power Limitation (vkPOWLIM).
3. Uncheck the parameter.
4. Write Data.

Step 4 — Modify Engine Coding

1. Open Advanced → ECM Coding2.
2. Change parameter Byte 2: Engine to 89.
3. Write Data.

Step 5 — Finalize Programming

1. Close BUDS.
2. Run BUDS W3.8.2 or newer.
3. Login with Dealer PWC & Boats privileges.
4. Install updates if available.
5. Clear all faults.
6. Reset throttle position.
7. Write Data.

Important Warning

This procedure modifies factory ECM configuration parameters. Incorrect programming may damage the vehicle or cause improper engine operation.
